Procedure Before Car Polishing

For better impression, there are companies who showcase the photos of fine skills of car polishing and of course, the quality of products used. The professional detailer always gives their hundred percent and do their best for making the process more informative and even try to add a few videos and clips to grab the attention of the readers.

These details include preparing the vehicle and its paint for getting car polishing. If we leave any minute detailing measure then we are not going to get an appropriate and accurate result and in fact that even may lead to damaging the vehicle. That’s why we follow a measure of preparing the vehicle, then act on the core process and then finally the outcome is achieved. 

Before preparing your car for hardcore detailing, always try to first outline the preparation of the vehicle for ensuring that you are achieving a complete result and that too of superior quality.

Decontamination by washing:

Starting the process with the washing of the car and decontaminating it. Despite the truth that we are heading towards polishing the car but before that we need to start the process with safe and easy techniques and this starts with normal techniques of maintenance. Before washing the car, ensure to remove the brackets and plates if possible. This is important as these are the hiding places of dirt, muds and other contaminants and the second thing is it causes obstruction in the polishing process. It just takes fraction part of the total time in removing and then installing these but if you are keeping these then you will spend extra time in cleaning and polishing around and even then, it will not bring satisfying results.

Ensure to clean the vehicle thoroughly and remove all the bugs, debris, dirt and dust because for sure they will come in way of the polishing problem and affecting your work adversely. This debris gets caught in the pads while conducting the polishing process which can risk the car paint.

Not just the removal of dirt and debris is needed but even we need to put our effort into removing the previous sealants, wax, grease, and tars. This because these can act as interference between the new applied polish, car paint and pads. It’s just a barrier between the polishing material and polishing media. 

Claying:

After washing you get a squeaky car that is completely clean from dirt, dust, sealants, and wax. So, coming down to the next process of decontamination that is claying. Clay smartly acts over the surface to remove the leftover contaminants which are embedded contaminants from the surface of the vehicles. These are certain elements that stick to the paint of the vehicle and resides there just like a permanent mark. These marks are not washable with just normal car wash so here generates the need for claying. Just like washing you even need to be more careful at the time of claying. Always use fresh clay to clean the surface of the potential contaminants before polishing. 

Taping:

Now the time of final touch up and this can be done by tapping. Tapping is needed so as to protect delicate materials and edges that can get hampered while polishing. Using a buffer pad, you can easily protect the sharp parts or say damage high prone area.
